FACULTY ADOPTED POLICIES

PROCEDURES FOR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ACTION ON COURSES AND CURRICULA PROPOSALS

Adopted by the Faculty on May 1, 1992; Revision Approved November 5, 2013

Procedures by which the Executive Committee will act for the Faculty on recommendations by the Courses and Curricula Committee concerning academic programs and policy.

  1. The College will maintain on the College web site a list of courses and curricular proposals submitted for review and/or approved by the Courses and Curricula Committee.
  2. The Courses and Curricula Committee shall make program proposals and policy recommendations on matters within its jurisdiction to the Executive Committee for action on behalf of the Faculty.
  3. New curricular proposals will be reviewed by the Dean’s Cabinet (for any cost implications) and by the Executive Committee.
  4. The Executive Committee a) may act on behalf of the Faculty and notify the Faculty of those actions at the next meeting, b) may return the recommendation to the Courses and Curricula Committee for further consideration, c) may place the recommendation on the agenda of the next regular Faculty meeting, or d) may call a special Faculty meeting to consider the recommendation.
