"I was the Political Section Intern with the US State Department's Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (USOSCE). The internship was full-time, and my day-to-day activities primarily consisted of drafting budgetary statements or briefing notes for the Ambassador or desk officers in Washington. I'd say the best part about working for the USOSCE was that I was frequently attending meetings in the Hofburg and going to high level receptions (free food!)."

"To get this internship, I had to plan well in advance. I knew I would be studying abroad in Vienna, so I applied only for positions here when Summer 2019 applications opened for the Department of State back in September 2018. I highly recommend pursuing this internship or other ones with the US Mission to International Organizations in Vienna (UNVIE) or the Bilateral Embassy. It is an amazing opportunity to learn about US diplomatic efforts and the inner workings of multilateral affairs!"
