Securities

Direct gifts of appreciated stock, bonds, mutual funds, and real estate/farmland to achieve your philanthropic goals. These gifts can provide additional tax savings against capital gains.

Endowments

Endowed gifts play a vital role in advancing excellence in education and empowering innovative research far into the future. An endowment can be established through an outright gift, a bequest in a will, or a life income gift such as a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust.

Naming opportunities for endowed gifts create an everlasting legacy for donors with the college. Endowments may be designated as unrestricted or explicitly support scholarships, faculty positions, or facility improvement, among other efforts.

Recurring gifts

Gifts can be spread out over a multi-year period, either to extend tax benefits or to best meet your annual giving ability. This structure enables an endowment to be built through a multi-year pledge. Annual gifts can be set up to be automatically given on an up to monthly basis.

Planned gifts

Consider a planned gift to the University of Illinois Foundation to support the college through your will, living, trust, donor advised fund, or retirement plan. Planned gifts can help take care of yourself and your loved ones while also meeting your philanthropic goals, both by alleviating tax burden as well as providing lifetime income.

Tax Benefits

Gifts to support the college are routed through the University of Illinois Foundation (UIF), a 501(c)3 organization that is qualified to receive tax deductible contributions, with the purpose to manage the endowment and its annual return on behalf of the University of Illinois System. More information about UIF, its investment, and tax information, can be found on the UIF website.

The University of Illinois Foundation tax ID, or EIN, is 37-6006007.
