Gary J. Greenspan

Gary J. Greenspan (AB, '79, political science) is the owner and managing director of Chi-Town Sports, LLC, DBA Hi-Five Sports Camp/Chicago. This business provides sports camps and programming for children ages pre-K to 13. Chi-Town Sports also provides scholarships to numerous underserved inner-city children though its nonprofit foundation. Gary is responsible for onsite management and communication with parents and administration of all fiscal matters. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Illinois, Gary attended Chicago-Kent College of Law where he received his JD in 1982. In 1983, Gary became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, where he traded U.S. Treasury Bonds for nearly 20 years. Gary chose a new career path in 2001 by founding Chi-Town Sports, a company that enables him to combine his two true passions—children and sports. As a volunteer, Gary has been president of the board of directors of his homeowners association in Michigan and active is in his local little league baseball association. "I consider myself to be a people person who enjoys working with various groups to achieve a common goal," he said. "I believe that my diverse career path gives me a unique appreciation of the values derived from a solid liberal arts and sciences education at Illinois."
