The LAS Success workshop series is designed to support students’ academic, personal, and professional development. These workshops can help you design your life and career.

Academic Workshops

LAS departments offer workshops to help students succeed in their coursework. Some workshops are designed for students to prepare for college-level exams. Others help students navigate a specific sequence of courses or explore topics such as mindfulness.

Request a Life + Career Design Lab Workshop

If you're interested in setting up a workshop from the Life + Career Design Lab, please contact us. These workshops are by request and require a minimum of 5 participants. To accommodate request, please submit at least two weeks before your workshop.

Current Life + Career Design Lab workshops:

  • What is the Life + Career Design Lab
    This 20-25 minute workshop will cover how the Life + Career Design Lab supports students during their college experience to get the most out of Illinois.  Learn why the Lab is an invaluable resource and how students can utilize it.
  • Gaining Work Experience Throughout College
    Are you interested in gaining professional experience during the school year or during breaks? This workshop will help you sharpen your job seeking skills and better understand the types of opportunities available.
  • Design Your Study Abroad
    Want to study abroad but don’t know where to start? During this workshop, a peer study abroad specialist will go over the best ways to inquire, engage, and create the right program abroad for you.
  • Get Involved in Undergrad Research
    Participating in undergraduate research is a valuable and rewarding way to gain useful skills for your future career, work closely with a mentor in your field, and learn more about your area of study. This workshop will help pave the way for students interested in getting involved with a research project. 
  • Become a Student Leader on Campus
    Are you interested in finding different ways to improve your leadership skills? This workshop will discuss the different ways you can become involved on campus and build upon your leadership skills before graduation.
