Official Rules of the Make a Field Goal, Win a Year of Ice Cream Cream Competition
- Competition Name. Make a Field Goal, Win a Year of Ice Cream (the “Competition”).
- Administrator and Sponsor. The Administrator and Sponsor of the Competition is the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, 2090 Lincoln Hall, 702 S. Wright St., MC-448, Urbana, IL 61801 (the “Sponsor”).
- How to Enter. Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign may sign up to participate via this online form. Subject to all applicable, federal, state, and local laws. Void where prohibited. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules.
- Eligibility. The Competition is open only to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or payment of any kind will not increase your chances of winning.
- Promotional Period. The promotional period begins at 9 a.m. CT Monday (Oct. 26, 2020) and ends at 5 p.m. CT (Oct. 27, 2020). Sponsor’s clock is the official time keeping device of the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to reopen or extend the promotion as it deems necessary in its sole discretion.
- Prize. One (1) prize consisting of a coupon for fifty-two (52) free regular snowstorms (two topping maximum) at Alpha Custard Cup, LLC d/b/a Jarling’s Custard Cup located at 309 W. Kirby Ave, Champaign, IL 61820 (the “Prize”).
- Prize Restrictions. The Prize must be used by Oct. 29, 2021. Resale of the Prize is prohibited. Lost or stolen Prize will not be replaced. Prize does not include any other item not specifically described in these Official Rules. Only the listed Prize will be awarded and no substitutions, cash or otherwise, will be made. Entrants hereby acknowledge that neither Jarling’s Custard Cup nor the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois has made or is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Prize.
- Selection and Verification of Participants. On October 27, 2020, Sponsor will randomly select 25 entrants (“participants”) to participate in the competition. Sponsor will contact selected participants via email on Oct. 27, 2020 to confirm their availability for the competition. Participant must confirm availability by 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 28. If the participant fails to confirm their availability for the competition by 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 28 they will no longer be eligible and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign will randomly select a participant to fill their spot.
- Competition. Twenty-five (25) participants will be randomly assigned a kicking order the day of the Competition. Each participant gets one (1) kick attempt from the 29-yard line (north side of stadium). The ball will be placed on a football tee. If only one participant kicks the football from the designated location (determined by Sponsor) on the Memorial Stadium field through the North endzone goalposts, that participant will win the Prize. If no participants kick the football through the goalposts from the designated location, the Prize will not be awarded. If more than one participant kicks the football through the goalposts from the designated location, all participants who kicked the football through the goalposts will then compete in a kickoff. In this kickoff, each participant will attempt to kick the football the farthest in the air from the 35-yard line (south end of field). In this kickoff, whomever kicks the football the farthest in in the air (without hitting the turf) will win the Prize. Kicking locations, the football used, and the football tee will be supplied by Sponsor. Sponsor’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Competition and the selection of the participants and ultimate winner are final and binding.
- Privacy. Information submitted by entrants will be collected by Sponsor’s systems based in the United States and such collection will be subject to applicable United States laws. Entrants may withdraw personal data upon request by submitting this form at https://forms.illinois.edu/sec/1942686349; however, entrant will be disqualified if personal data is withdrawn prior to the determination of the winner(s) for fulfillment of the prizes(s). Information submitted by entrants is subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy: http://www.vpaa.uillinois.edu/policies/web_privacy.cfm.
- Waiver and Release. Each entrant, on behalf of themselves and their heirs, representatives and assigns, releases Alpha Custard Cup, LLC d/b/a Jarling’s Custard Cup, the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, trustees, agents, employees, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Competition (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from any and all liability and waives all claims of any kind, known or unknown, with respect to, or in any way arising from, this Competition and acceptance or use of the Prize, including liability for personal injury, damages, death and monetary loss.
- Miscellaneous. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, illegible, late, delayed or misdirected mail or email or other communications, or for any error in the printing, interpretation, or administration of the Competition, or in any announcement of the winner or Prize. In no event will Sponsor or Jarling’s Custard Cup be liable for more than the stated one (1) prize. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Competition, in its entirety or in part, should tampering, unauthorized intervention, counterfeiting, fraud, technical failures, or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Competition. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant or potential winner and may refuse to award the Prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the Competition, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means. Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements outlined in these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant or participant it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition, to be acting in violation of the Rules or any laws, or to be attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition by cheating, hacking, deception, misappropriation, infringement, or any other unfair playing practices, poor sportsmanship, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other participants or Sponsor representatives. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE COMPETITION MAY VIOLATE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION. IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
