Inclusive Excellence funding

The LAS Inclusive Excellence Office is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment that reflects the richness of perspectives and experiences in our community. To further this commitment, we are pleased to offer an opportunity for units to apply for funding to support initiatives that promote inclusive excellence within your respective areas. 

Funding purpose

This funding opportunity aims to support educational projects, programs, and activities that contribute to the advancement of inclusive excellence within your unit. We encourage creative proposals that align with our institution's values and aim to create a more inclusive academic environment. 

Eligibility

All college departments within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, registered student organizations, and cultural/resource centers are eligible to apply for this funding. Applications should clearly outline how the proposed initiative/event/activity will contribute to inclusive excellence promotion within your unit. 

Funding allocation

The available funding for each unit will be determined based on the merits of the applications received. Because we have a limited budget, we encourage units to consider both the scope and impact of their initiatives. 

Application process

Apply by filling out an LAS Inclusive Excellence Funding Request. 

  • All proposals must be submitted at least a month before the event/activity. 
  • The LAS Inclusive Excellence team will review applications based on their alignment with diversity and inclusion promotion goals and potential impact. 
  • Departments will be notified of the funding decisions no later than two weeks before the proposed activity.
