Champaign-Urbana

Not only is Champaign-Urbana the home to the University of Illinois, but it is also a great place to experience culture and the arts, try new food, and explore nature. Catch a show at the Virginia Theater, or go on a hike at the Homer Lake Forest Preserve. Visit the Urbana Farmers Market during the summer. Hungry? Office support

From budgeting to research assistance, office support positions across LAS units help their students and faculty achieve their missions. These positions help streamline processes, ensuring efficient and consistent operations while aligning with university and college-wide strategic goals.

Human resources

Human resources services within the College of LAS Service Center can help units with appointment processing, payroll, searches & hiring, separation, employee relations, and more.

Marketing & communications

Marketing & communications staff market programs to prospective students, engage them throughout their time as students, and keep them informed and encourage them to give back as alumni. They engage, educate, and empower LAS faculty and staff, helping create community and connections throughout the college. They also interact with the Champaign-Urbana community at large, spreading the knowledge and life-changing experiences found within LAS.

I’ve applied. Now what?

Once the closing date has passed, a review of completed submissions will begin. Each search is unique, so timelines will vary on when you will receive a notification of your application status. If you are selected to move forward in the search process, you will be contacted directly regarding next steps. If you are not selected, you will receive a communication informing you of your status in the search at that time.

What if a position closing date has passed, but the position is still posted?

Sometimes positions remain active on the website until an offer has been officially accepted. If you see an opportunity of interest that is still posted, but the close date has passed, please feel free to apply or contact us directly for more information.

Does each position require a separate application?

Yes, each position requires separate application materials to be submitted for consideration.

I have not heard on the status of my application, what can I do?

Please contact us to check on the status of your application and include the title and department of the position.

Does LAS offer workplace flexibility?

While our onsite operations remain crucial to our mission, there are positions that may lend themselves to a flexible work arrangement that includes remote or hybrid work. In these situations, the impact to our stakeholders is minimal and the level of performance and productivity is maintained and/or improved.  If you have questions if a certain position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule and the advertisement did not clarify please contact us.
