The College of LAS is dedicated to empowering our first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students, from their first day of college all the way to graduation and beyond.

With support from the university, LAS Student Academic Affairs, and your major, at Illinois you'll experience a welcoming environment where you can thrive.

We understand that there are challenges in higher education, especially for students of color. Read on to learn about some of the resources available that help students build strong support networks and ensures everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

College-level support programs

Access invaluable support at the college level, including the Access & Achievement Program (AAP), where students connect with university resources to complement their academic talents and shape their educational paths, and the LAS International Student Advisory Board, which fosters a more inclusive campus environment by enhancing interactions between international and domestic students.

The University of Illinois will cover tuition and fees for up to four years for all qualified in-state students.
