Four new members selected for LAS Alumni Association Board.

To strengthen the collaboration between the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and its alumni, the LAS Alumni Association Board of Directors has added more members to its traditional dozen. The 2007-08 board is now 15 volunteers strong, including a new student representative position.

Alice Faron (AB '70, sociology) of Champaign consults with Scherer Schneider Paulick Corporation and is a workshop leader for the University of Illinois Tax School to manage logistics, registrations, and instruction for tax seminars. She's also a past director of the LeaderShape Institute at the U of I.

Scott Rice (AB '91, history), also of Champaign, serves as associate university counsel for the University of Illinois, representing the University's legal interests on all three campuses. He has worked with leaders at the highest levels of all three governmental branches in the state of Illinois. Rice is also on the Board of Directors of the Champaign County Illini Club.

Peggy Ruff (BS '75, mathematics and psychology) of Forsyth is vice president of logistics for Tate & Lyle Ingredients Americas, Inc., a world leader in renewable ingredients. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Easter Seals of Central Illinois.

Student Eryn Finke, in the senior class of 2009 in chemical engineering, is the current president of the LAS Leaders and has served as a host for many alumni returning for campus visits.
