LAS International Programs invites admitted First-year students to start their Illinois journey in Granada, Spain, with the Illinois in Granada program at the Universidad de Granada. This unique academic opportunity for LAS first-year students offers cultural immersion, community engagement, and a supportive cohort of fellow Illinois students in a vibrant historical city with long connections to Illinois. Students will remain fully connected to their degree program and on track to complete graduation requirements at Illinois while gaining invaluable experiences that pave the way to future opportunities.

Take Illinois-approved area coursework and Spanish language courses taught by University of Granada faculty and Illinois instructors. Your credits apply directly toward your degree, keeping you on track for graduation.

Granada is known for its rich history and traditions, its walkable and welcoming neighborhoods, and its iconic Alhambra Palace.  As part of the Illinois in Granada program at the Universidad de Granada through LAS International programs, you will live with host families who provide an immersive cultural and linguistic experience—and delicious home-cooked meals!
