Marketing intern - Fall 2025

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Office of Communications and Marketing is seeking a digital marketing intern for the 2025–2026 academic year.

This is a paid position ($15/hr, up to 15 hours per week) and a great opportunity to strengthen your professional portfolio while gaining hands-on communications and marketing experience.

Job description

The digital marketing intern will help tell the stories of LAS students, faculty, and alumni across multiple platforms. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating social media content, including brainstorming ideas, drafting captions, and participating in short-form video on Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Writing blog posts for the LAS website that use search engine optimization (SEO) best practices, with opportunities to take on longer feature-style stories depending on interest and experience.
  • Examining available analytics to help the team plan content and identify opportunities for stronger engagement.
  • Helping with student recruitment events (as schedules allow) and other communications tasks as needed.

Skills

The ideal candidate is a strong and savvy communicator who enjoys creating engaging content on a variety of channels. They are a strong writer, creative, reliable, and able to work independently. They are comfortable both appearing on social media and interacting with current students, faculty, and staff.

Candidates with the following knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Experience with creative writing, including blog posts or similar content.
  • Experience creating TikToks and/or Instagram Reels.
  • Basic graphic design.

Hours

This part-time paid position offers flexible hours, requiring between 10–15 hours per week during business hours. The position will start as soon as possible following the close of the application, with the potential to continue each semester depending on the candidate. This is an on-site office position with the option to occasionally work remotely.

Web intern - Fall 2025

The College of LAS Office of Marketing and Communications is looking for an undergraduate student to provide support for department, faculty, and other websites maintained by the Web Team. 

We need someone who has the technical skills to create quality webpages as well as the people skills to interact with faculty and staff in support of their websites. You will work alongside full-time staff to answer support requests from across the college.

Job Duties
• Editing content on existing websites using the Drupal content management system
• Supporting website editors on how to manage the content on their site
• Migrating content from static web pages to Drupal CMS, including cleaning up formatting and fixing layout problems
• Responding to tickets from faculty and staff requesting support for web content
• Updating faculty/staff records in directory systems

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience creating web pages using HTML and CSS
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks on-time

Preferred

  • Experience in supporting a website with multiple editors
  • Experience working in Drupal, WordPress or other CMS
  • Experience working with CMS themes in WordPress or Drupal

Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in computer, visual arts, or communication areas

Hours

Part time, 10-15 hours per week. Flexible schedule between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays

Newswriting intern - Fall 2025

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Office of Communications and Marketing is seeking student news writers to help keep print and online audiences informed on the activities of alumni and the latest developments on campus. 

Are you able to write well and accurately on deadline? Are you comfortable conducting interviews? Does the idea of covering research, teaching, and student life in the largest college on campus appeal to you? Are you excited by the opportunity to pitch story ideas to an editor? If so, this may be a great internship for you.

Duties

  • Writing news stories and briefs about news and developments in the College of LAS
  • Conducting interviews and researching documents
  • Proofreading, editing, and rewriting
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours

This is a paid position for up to 12-15 hours per week. Work schedules are flexible and may vary. The internship may be extended beyond the fall.
