The world is a big, beautiful, diverse place.
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences wants to help you explore it.
LAS International Programs
The College of LAS encourages the development of global learning and competencies. LAS International Programs aims to provide learning opportunities and support and guidance for domestic and international students. We also support faculty and staff as we work to understand and respond to those around us, from our campus to the entire world.
We work to help LAS units in their efforts to create meaningful and academically rigorous virtual global experiences, short-term and semester-length programs abroad, while also developing courses and programs to help international students get comfortable on campus. We work directly with faculty members throughout the college to help them successfully create and lead courses abroad. We're working together to make sure that we all benefit from our broad, diverse college.
Spring 2021 study abroad
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign made the difficult decision to extend the suspension of study abroad through May 2021. This decision applies to Spring 2021 and includes all program types (exchange, direct enroll, provider programs, faculty-led, and study abroad by petition). Study abroad departing in June 2021 will be evaluated in early spring. Visit International Safety and Security’s website to learn more about the recent announcement.
Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with LAS International Programs to explore alternative opportunities to engage in global learning for the spring 2021 semester.
Are you interested in engaging in global learning? If so, Virtual Global Experiences might be right for you! Students work virtually with international organizations, collaborate on projects, and conduct research with international faculty and students.
